Chakra – what you need to know
The chakra is a point in the body that is associated with, and transmits the life force energy. The word 'chakra' comes from the sanskrit and literally means 'spinning wheel or sphere of energy'. It is traditionally believed by the Hindu's that there are nearly 90,000 chakra points in the human body. These however are reduced essentially to seven chakra points. These run along the spinal column from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.
The seven main points of Chakrah include the crown chakra, the eye chakra, the throat chakra, the heart chakra, the stomach chakra, the navel chakra, as well as the base chakra. The main idea here is that these seven points take in the energy from the people around us as well as the environment around us. They transmit energies into the surroundings and also take in energy from the surroundings. So, these points all influence what we do everyday in terms of emotions, mental thinking, and spiritual activities.
There are many people or organizations that have their own explanation but there is still one that keeps them all tied together. No one knows if it comes from the view point of Chinese medicine or how the study of psychology looks at it. Each person sees the balance of chakra in their own way where the unconscious and conscious process of thought takes place. It is said that the Hindus explanation is also another form of explaining the chakra.
It is important to understand that the Chakras in your body are always in motion even if you are sleeping. They are constantly influencing the metabolic functions of your body as well as the thoughts that your mind is having. Now you can see why the well being of our Chakras is so important. If one Chakrah is disrupted then our entire body may be affected negatively.
Many believe that this all happens because the chakras are part of the endocrine glad that is located inside your body. If you do not keep your chakras in balance then you will get what is known as a disturbance in this glad which will affect everything that is attached to it.
It is extremely important to attempt to maintain Chakra balance by using the above as a starting part. It is important that you realize all major illnesses are related to one of the seven main chakras. There may not be physical evidence yet of the illness, but emotions or worries from past events in our lives may still effect us today emotionally as well as spiritually.
There may be repressed memories or forgotten emotional baggage which comes form past traumatic experiences that can cause the chakras to be out of balance. We may actually be unaware of this, but the negative, emotional toxins have an effect at the cellular level. It is because of this that the need to resolve them is critical to attain proper chakra balance and to heal our physical self in the process.
There are certain things that are Good for our Body and promote Chakra Healing such as Reiki, aromatherapy, balancing of the chakras, color therapy and balancing with things like crystals, pendulums or gemstones.
Some people would rather attend a yoga class to help maintain the balance of their chakras through physical exercises and controlled breathing.
Some other ways that we can heal our Chakras include mediation as well as guided visualization. These techniques can help to reduce stress and harness the power of the mind.
Despite the fact that we can not physically see or touch our chakras, they can work independently to sustain our body.
The human body has to be healthy and fed properly in order for us to have balanced chakras. There are foods that help maintain the balance of each of the seven primary chakras.
Root-type vegetables, protein-rich foods and spices nourish our root chakra. The sexual and creativity (sacral) chakra needs sweet fruits, nuts and cinnamon, vanilla, sesame and caraway seeds; the stomach/solar plexus chakra which is responsible for enhancing our self-confidence and self-love are can be nourished by eating breads, pastas, cereal, dairy products, yogurt and minty spices.
Take care of your heart chakra with green leafy vegetables. You can also go with a green tea which can help flush things out. For your throat chakra, you?ll need to push fluids. Fruit juices and water are very good for this, especially juices that have apples or peaches.
Eating blueberries, drinking wine, and grapes makes our brow chakra extremely nourished and much more sharper. It also helps improve our physical abilities.
The center of our emotional being is called the crown chakra which needs to be detoxified. This is generally done through fasting. Some people prefer to do a ritual inhalation which can be done through the use of natural herbs as well as incense.
