Chakra meditation aims at looking inwards as distinct from looking outwards and looking at surroundings as we do most of the time. Looking outwards often makes us forget what we are and what we are capable of. Meditation leads to our becoming aware of our potential and capabilities or in short achieving self realization. Meditation also gives the opportunity to sift, analyze and evaluate what we learn from our experiences in everyday life, thus making it possible to assimilate the correct knowledge and discard the incorrect. Moreover, meditation reduces tensions and promotes physical and mental relaxation.
Understanding Chakra Meditation
The meditation whose basic aim is to align the movement of all the seven primary Chakras in the body is termed as Chakra Meditation. Our body consists of 7 primary and over 20,000 secondary Chakras. For a better understanding of Chakra Meditation, it?s important to know what and where are the primary Chakras in the body:
*Root or Base Chakra located at the base of the spine and related to the element ?Earth?. It governs our general health, prosperity, and security.
*Orange Chakra, also called the Naval or Sacral Chakra, is situated at the center of abdomen. It is related to the ?Water? element, which governs our sexuality and emotions.
*Power Chakra. This chakra is also called Solar Plexus and lies on our abdomen just above the naval. This is related to the element fire which governs our metabolism. It also governs our will power and our self confidence.
*Heart Chakra is situated right at the center of the chest. It is related to the ?Air? element, which governs our feelings of love, compassion, and general relationships.
*Throat Chakra is positioned at the bottom of the throat. It is associated to the ?Sound' feature, which administers our uniqueness, communication capability, and tone.
*Brow Chakra, also named as The Third Eye Chakra, is located between the brows on the forehead. It is associated to the ?Light' part, which administers our acuity, understanding and vision.
*Crown Chakra located at the top of the head and related to the element ?thought?. It governs consciousness, wisdom, and knowledge.
If you want to reinvent yourself and bring back those vitalizing moments in your life, then there?s no substitute to Chakra Meditation. If these vital seven Chakras are rotating in sync, physical, mental, and spiritual well being is assured. Thus, you can safely conclude that Chakra Meditation is the key to overall health of your life, taken as a whole.
Chakra Meditation ? The Process
Chakra Meditation is the sum total of the following three techniques:
*Grounding Method. As is obvious by its name, the Grounding Method makes your body feel associated with the Earth. The function of this technique is much easy. Just imagine a root mounting from your body and inflowing towards the Earth. Easier it may resonance, but needs strong attention and psychological consciousness while performing the Grounding Method.
*Centering Method. This method is imperative as it organizes your body to obtain the advantages of Chakra Meditation. Again, the purpose of this method is not too complex. Just take 4-6 deep inhalations and feel each body component from head to toe being comfortable. This procedure involves tapering and soothing each body part from toe, and then imagining the act of a potter who middles a pot on the pottery helm.
*Relaxation Technique. The Relaxation Technique is the primary act in the entire Chakra Meditation process. Everyone has his or her own method of relaxation. Just find out your preferred mode of relaxing the body and stick to it. In a nutshell, Chakra Meditation is all about relaxing, visualizing, and directing the flow of energy through the seven energy centers (Chakras).
Here is a simple method of performing Chakra Meditation.
*Sit or lie down in a comfortable posture like Padmasan.
*Close your eyes and loosen your clothing. The idea is to be in a natural state without any kind of artificial compulsion on the body and mind.
*Breathe in a relaxed manner, which should be neither too fast nor too slow. The idea is to give up the control on your breath, and let it flow naturally, but healthily.
*Just begin feeling each fraction of your body from toe to the head in that way. While you?re both eyes are closed, just feel the earth you are lying or sitting on, or the bed you are lying or sitting on, feel the atmosphere near around you, and feel the clothing you are wearing. Feel the whole lot you'd have had your both eyes been open. Now imagine the life in dark!
*Nearly all the negative thoughts and feelings should not be shunned. Let them be! With time and ordinary practice, these feelings will vanish instinctively. Relatively, when no such negative feeling upsets you that is the time when you should think that you have perfected the knack of Chakra Meditation.
*Do not resist your awareness of any part of your body or things around you.
Chakra Meditation can be performed by anyone at convenient hours. There is no rule for the duration of time to perform Chakra Meditation. Suit your comfort levels!
