Meditation is traditionally regarded as one of the most potent forms of realizing one?s spiritual being, and in the process, one can live a healthy and aware life. Different people adopt different meditation styles, but if there?s one universally acceptable mode of meditation, that has to be the Chakra Meditation.

Chakra Meditation ? Knowing The Basics

Chakra Meditation is the most accepted system of meditation. It is about re energizing and harmonizing the seven centers of energy in the body which are known as charkas. These are.

*The Root, or base Chakra. This Chakra is located at the base of the spine and represents the element of Earth. The Root Chakra is responsible for our health, security and prosperity.

*Orange or Naval or Sacral Chakra located at the center of abdomen and related to the element ?Water?. It governs our emotions and sexuality.

*Solar Plexus governing your metabolism, autonomy and conviction is located just above the naval region and related to the element ?Fire?.

*Heart Chakra is located exact at the middle of human chest. It is associated to the ?Air' feature, which often governs our approach of love, sympathy, and common relations.

*Throat Chakra is positioned at the bottom of the throat. It is associated to the ?Sound' feature, which administers our uniqueness, communication capability, and tone.

*Brow or The Third Eye Chakra located between the brows on the forehead and related to the element ?Light?. It governs perception, interpretation, imagination, and clear vision.

*Crown Chakra is situated at the top of the head. It is related to the ?thought? element, which governs our wisdom, knowledge, and consciousness.

By concentrating and synchronizing these vital energy centers, one can achieve a calming influence on the mind resulting in stress-free existence and a contented life. Chakra Meditation also helps in naturally healing any ailment related to these 7 vital energy centers.

Chakra Meditation ? The Process

Chakra Meditation involves three techniques in this order.

*Grounding Technique. As is evident from its name, the Grounding Technique makes your body feel connected with the Earth. The application of this technique is pretty simple. Just visualize a root growing from your body and entering into the Earth. Easier it may sound, but requires intense concentration and mental awareness while performing the Grounding Technique.

*Centering Technique. This technique prepares you to receive rewards of Chakra Meditation. Just take half a dozen deep breathes and feel the existence of each part of your body by tightening and relaxing muscles in each part, while at the same time visualizing the hand of a potter centering a pot on the potter?s wheel.

*Relaxation Technique. The Relaxation Technique is the primary act in the entire Chakra Meditation process. Everyone has his or her own method of relaxation. Just find out your preferred mode of relaxing the body and stick to it. In a nutshell, Chakra Meditation is all about relaxing, visualizing, and directing the flow of energy through the seven energy centers (Chakras).

Here is one of the most common methods of performing Chakra Meditation.

*Sit comfortably or lie down in a comfortable position.

*Untie all your clothing so that there is no stress on any part of your body, and close your both eyes.

*Take deep, but natural breaths to help you relax ? just let your body breath naturally and try not to think about it.

*Become aware of each organ of your body from foot to the head. Feel the aura around you as well as your clothes. With your eyes shut visualize everything that you would have seen had your eyes been open. Visualize life in darkness!

*All the negative thoughts and emotions should not be avoided. Let them be! With time and regular practice, these thoughts will disappear automatically. Rather, when no such negative emotion disturbs you, that is the time when you should consider that you have perfected the art of Chakra Meditation.

*Do not resist your awareness of any part of your body or things around you.

Chakra Meditation can be performed by anyone at convenient hours. There is no rule for the duration of time to perform Chakra Meditation. Suit your comfort levels!
