The chakra is a point in the body that is associated with, and transmits the life force energy. The word ‘chakra’ comes from the sanskrit and literally means ‘spinning wheel or sphere of energy’.
The Hindu writings show that there are more than 88,000 different chakra points in a persons body but they are all focused into 7 main areas or energy axis’. All of the 7 areas go from the base of a persons spine all the way to their head.
The seven main points of Chakra include the crown chakra, the eye chakra, the throat chakra, the heart chakra, the stomach chakra, the navel chakra, as well as the base chakra. The main idea here is that these seven points take in the energy from the people around us as well as the environment around us. They transmit energies into the surroundings and also take in energy from the surroundings. So, these points all influence what we do everyday in terms of emotions, mental thinking, and spiritual activities.
Whether you choose the viewpoint of the Hindu’s mystical understanding of an individual’s internal and external experience, Chinese medicine or the explanation of modern psychology of human thought processes and consciousness, the chakras are distinctive core common to all explanations.
Irrespective of our knowledge, the chakras and the energy flow through them are in constant motion. This constant movement influences our normal structure, appearance, physical disorders, glandular processes as well as our thoughts and actions. However, if there is a chakra imbalance in one or more points that can be brought on by various reasons, the equilibrium will get lost and this imbalance will be felt in other areas of our being.
This happens because each endocrine gland in our body is linked to one of the seven major chakras. If there is an imbalance of a chakra then it will effect a physical and emotional process that creates a disturbance in the behavior of the endocrine gland that it is specifically linked to.
Contemplating with the Chakra Using the above as our point of beginning, we can safely presume that the major health ailments are due to the malfunctioning of the chakras and illnesses are concerned with imbalances in the endocrine system which indirectly affects the emotional system of our childhood that influence us spiritually, emotionally and physically.
The major cause of chakra imbalance is the emotional burden that we carry. Whether it is trauma, or whether it is grief, many individuals habitually bury their long term emotions and frightening thoughts deep inside their subconscious minds which further releases toxins disrupting cellular level functions.
It is very important for a person to learn how to deal with their emotional baggage or repressed memories so that they can balance out there chakra’s. This will let their body heal and get everything aligned.
There are certain things that are Good for our Body and promote Chakra Healing such as Reiki, aromatherapy, balancing of the chakras, color therapy and balancing with things like crystals, pendulums or gemstones.
The physical and breathing exercises performed in yoga are also beneficial in many ways. Many people enjoy yoga sessions and it is one of the very good ways to balance ones chakras for a healthy body and a peaceful mind.
Some of the other ways that you can heal your chakra are through meditation. This is where you can focus your minds on an object for a certain amount of time. It is important for good visualization which can be done through audio tapes and even CDs which will help with natural healing. You can try relaxation techniques which will help you to reduce stress and help you to get a better grip on things.
Although we cannot see or feel our chakras, they work alone to help sustain our bodies in several ways.
The body needs nutrition in order for there to be balance of the chakras and the pleasure of good health. There are particular foods that aid in maintaining the balance of each of the seven chakras.
The root chakra is nourished with foods rich in protein, spices and root type vegetables. Nuts, vanilla, cinnamon, sweet fruits and seeds such as caraway and sesame nourishes the sacral chakra that of our sexual being and creativity. Breads, cereals, pasta, yogurt, dairy products and spicy mints nourish our stomach or solar plexus chakra which enhances our sense of self love and self confidence.
In case of the heart chakra, green tea and green leafy vegetables are best nurturers. Taking in a lot of water, fruit juices and tangy fruits such as peaches and apples nourish the throat chakra.
The brow or third eye chakra which enhances our sharpness of third eye sight and an in-depth sense of our own psychical gifts is nourished by consuming grapes, blueberries, grape juice and wine.
If you want to work on your crown chakra then you will need to do some detoxifying. This is done through fasting or by using some inhalations techniques with herbs.
Thus we can improve our health as we stimulate our chakras. Doing so motivates us to be more responsive in our lives as we get tuned up to the surrounding auras of life and other elements affecting the physical and metaphysical environments we are living in.
