The energy point in the human body for receiving and transmitting the life force of energy is called a chakra. It is a word derived from Sanskrit which means the sphere or a spinning wheel. In this case it refers to the energy whirls in a human body.

According to Hindu writings there are more than 88,000 chakra points within our body. The most essential of chakra points are those that are found along the spinal column and up to the crown of the head and are the seven chakra points.

When you break down the chakras 7 major points you will get navel/sex chakra, Base/root chakra, heart chakra, solar/stomach plexus chakra, third eye/brow chakra, crown chakra and the throat chakra. What these 7 points do is take in the energy from the things that are all around us such as people and they transmit or move the energy to out bodies. There are certain areas that are affecting would be emotional as well as intellectual, corporeal, spiritual and psychological.

Whether you chose to take on a point of view that comes from the Hindus mystical perception of the external and internal experience of an individual, the modern psychology of explanation of the consciousness and thought patterns or Chinese medicine, you will find a common thread within them all. This point is that the chakras are distinct when it comes to their explanations or definitions.

Irrespective of our knowledge, the chakras and the energy flow through them are in constant motion. This constant movement influences our normal structure, appearance, physical disorders, glandular processes as well as our thoughts and actions. However, if there is a chakra imbalance in one or more points that can be brought on by various reasons, the equilibrium will get lost and this imbalance will be felt in other areas of our being.

This is due to the seven major chakra’s being connected to the in endocrine gland that is found in our bodies. Even the smallest imbalance of can take it’s toll on our emotional state as well as our physical state. When an imbalance occurs it can create a disturbance in the way a person behaves and that is directly linked up to the endocrine gland.

Maintaining equilibrium with the chakra from the above mentioned points in the introduction it can be safely said that our major diseases are an impact of malfunctioning of our chakras and imbalance or blockage in the energy flow. At times there may not be any illness but there may yet be emotional or psychological issues that would get affected.

It is said that one of the biggest factors in an unbalanced chakra is emotional baggage from the past. Many times people repress the emotional baggage that they got from dramatic experience, such as something from their childhood. This unfortunately is a bad habit that that many people have when it comes to bad memories in their subconscious mind. Most people are not aware that they are burying these things and that will affect their chakra in the end.

Thus it is extremely essential to deal with these emotional burdens as these are the most common factors that usually imbalances the proper functioning of chakras.

You must realize that Chakra healing is extremely good for your body and that you can also directly influence each and every one of your Chakras. You can do this by employing techniques such as Reiki healing, color therapy, aromatherapy, chakra balancing with the aid of a pendulum, crystals or gemstones.

The physical and breathing exercises can also be performed in the yoga sessions that are much significant in regulating the equilibrium of chakras.

There are other methods of chakra healing, they are meditation to keep the mind focused on a thought, awareness or object for a specific amount of time, a guided visualization which can be done while using CDs or audio tapes in order to encourage relaxation techniques and natural healing in order to reduce stress while promoting relaxation and harnessing mind power.

It is a fact that we cannot touch or see our chakras, but they are always working to help sustain the human body.

The human body has to be healthy and fed properly in order for us to have balanced chakras. There are foods that help maintain the balance of each of the seven primary chakras.

Vegetables that are root type vegetables as well as protein-rich foods help to nourish the root chakra. You may be intrigued to know that the sexual and creative chakra works best on nuts, vanilla, sesame, as well as extremely sweet fruits such as pineapples and oranges. The stomach chakra is responsible for self confidence and self esteem. The stomach chakra is best nourished through eating carbohydrates as well as dairy products.

Green leafy vegetables and green tea will nourish the heart chakra. The throat chakra benefits from the nourishment of consuming a lot of water and fruit juices as well as tangy fruits such as peaches and apples.

The third eye chakra which is responsible for the sharpness of third eye sight and a profound sense of the psychical gifts we all have is nourished by consuming such items as grapes, blueberries, grape juice and wine.

Detoxifying the body is beneficial to the crown chakra which is our emotional and spiritual center. This is done by the ritual inhalation of incense and herbs and by fasting.

We can influence our health when we influence or stimulate our chakras. Doing so inspires us to be more responsive in our lives as we become completely in tune with our general surrounding as well as all the other elements of the physical and metaphysical environment we live in.
