The energy point in the human body for receiving and transmitting the life force of energy is called a chakra. It is a word derived from Sanskrit which means the sphere or a spinning wheel. In this case it refers to the energy whirls in a human body.

Hindu text tells us that there are over 88,000 chakra points in each of our bodies. The most vital of these chakra points are those which run along the spinal column up to the crown of the head. These are the seven chakra points.

The seven chakras are the root, navel and solar plexus chakras, the heart, throat, and brow and crown chakras. The receiving and transmitting of energy from the surroundings, the individuals involved and other essential surrounding elements involves these chakra points. The mystical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, corporeal and psychological issues of an individual are influenced by the activity of the chakras.

There are many different ways to define chakra’s and they all seem to have an a common tie that binds them. There been many explanations including a spiritual or mystical understanding to the Chinese medicine. There are Psychologists and as well as regular individuals also have their own opinion on what a chakra is. The way modern psychology views it as an explanation of how our conscience and subconscious mind and thought process works.

It is important to understand that the Chakras in your body are always in motion even if you are sleeping. They are constantly influencing the metabolic functions of your body as well as the thoughts that your mind is having. Now you can see why the well being of our Chakras is so important. If one Chakra is disrupted then our entire body may be affected negatively.

This happens because all the seven major chakras correspond with the associated endocrine gland within our body. When there is any type of imbalance in the functioning of a chakra it influences our emotional and physical processes and then reveals a disorder in the normal pattern of behavior or activity by means of the endocrine gland it associates with.

Maintaining Chakra Balance By understanding the point above as a point of beginning, our chakras associate with any type of illness or disease that you may experience. Of course, the appearance of an imbalance or ailment may not be recognizable, although there may be emotional issues that resurface from out childhood which can influence the physical, spiritual and emotional senses.

One of the biggest causes of chakra imbalance from the regular life cycle is the emotional baggage or yoke that we carry along with us. Many of us bury our grief inside themselves not realising that the emotional toxins will influence the body on a cellular level.

This is why it is important for a person to get rid of their unwanted emotional baggage before it causes them problems with their body. A person can keep these issues buried in their subconscious mind and end up having emotional toxins which will affect their bodies in so many ways. By dealing with the issues from the past, you can then learn to heal yourself by way of a healthy chakra.

The human body requires chakra healing. By utilization of several techniques like therapy, aromatherapy, Reiki healing or using crystals, gemstones or a pendulum can affect chakras effectively.

Many people like to attend several yoga exercise classes that teach breathing and physical exercises to maintain chakra balance within their bodies.

There are various methods of chakra healing. These include focusing the mind on awareness or thought or even an object for a particular amount of time, the use of CDs or audio tapes of a guided visualization that will enhance natural healing and relaxation techniques to reduce the influence of stress while channeling the power of the mind and relaxation.

Chakras work unaided to maintain our body although we cannot touch or see our chakras.

Part of having a balanced chakras is feeding the human body properly. There are an array of foods that will help to maintain each specific major chakra.

Did you know that root vegetables that are high in protein help nourish the root chakra? Also, the creative as well as sexual chakra desires sweet fruits, nuts, and vanilla to function properly and help us feel good. The stomach or solar plexus chakra is responsible for making us feel good about ourselves and loves having breads and even minty spices with dairy products.

In case of the heart chakra, green tea and green leafy vegetables are best nurturers. Taking in a lot of water, fruit juices and tangy fruits such as peaches and apples nourish the throat chakra.

Your 3rd eye chakra thrives on grapes, wine and blueberries.

Our crown chakra, the center of our spiritual and emotional center needs detoxification through fasting and/or ritual inhalation of incense and herbs.

By positively influencing our chakras we can increase our general health and well being. By doing this this leads to a better life where you are more in touch with your surroundings and other elements of the metaphysical world which we live in.
