The energy whirls or energy points in the human body which receives, regulates and transmits the energy flow of it are known as the chakras. Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means a spinning wheel or a circle.
Many traditional Hindu writings suggest that there are nearly 90,000 points of Chakra throughout a person’s body. Although, there are seven Chakras that are more important than all of the rest. These Chakras exist from the bottom of the spine all the way up to the top of the head.
The seven chakras involve the root, navel, stomach, the heart, throat, and brow and the crown chakras. These featured chakra points have the ability to transmit and receive energy from the general surroundings as well as those individuals in it and other influential elements of the surroundings. Chakras can influence activities of an individual that deal with emotional, spiritual, intellectual, mystical, psychological and corporeal issues.
There are many people or organizations that have their own explanation but there is still one that keeps them all tied together. No one knows if it comes from the view point of Chinese medicine or how the study of psychology looks at it. Each person sees the balance of chakra in their own way where the unconscious and conscious process of thought takes place. It is said that the Hindus explanation is also another form of explaining the chakra.
This happens specifically because each one of the major chakra glands works with a specific endocrine gland within our bodies. If there is an imbalance in the function of a chakra this will effect our physical and emotional state of well being. It will also create a disturbance in the endocrine gland that is associated with that specific chakra.
All this is due to the association of the seven major chakras with the corresponding endocrine system of our body. When there is certain imbalance in the normal functioning of the systems or the chakras, it influences the physical and emotional functioning and shows up in the form of disorders in the normal pattern or behaviour of the associated endocrine gland system.
Contemplating with the Chakra Using the above as our point of beginning, we can safely presume that the major health ailments are due to the malfunctioning of the chakras and illnesses are concerned with imbalances in the endocrine system which indirectly affects the emotional system of our childhood that influence us spiritually, emotionally and physically.
There may be repressed memories or forgotten emotional baggage which comes form past traumatic experiences that can cause the chakras to be out of balance. We may actually be unaware of this, but the negative, emotional toxins have an effect at the cellular level.
This is why we need to deal with any emotional baggage as it can help us maintain the necessary balance of the chakras. This will influence the healing of the physical being.
Chakra Healing is good for the Body. We directly influence our chakras when we take on such activities as aromatherapy, color therapy and Reiki healing by bringing balance to the chakras while using such items as gemstones, pendulums and crystals.
The physical and breathing exercises can also be performed in the yoga sessions that are much significant in regulating the equilibrium of chakras.
Some other ways that we can heal our Chakras include mediation as well as guided visualization. These techniques can help to reduce stress and harness the power of the mind.
Chakras work on their own to maintain the body’s harmony and humans are unable to see and feel it with their normal senses.
The major requirement for balancing chakras requires proper feeding of self and good health. Respective chakras have specific food items for maintaining balance and good health.
The root chakra is nourished with foods rich in protein, spices and root type vegetables. Nuts, vanilla, cinnamon, sweet fruits and seeds such as caraway and sesame nourishes the sacral chakra that of our sexual being and creativity. Breads, cereals, pasta, yogurt, dairy products and spicy mints nourish our stomach or solar plexus chakra which enhances our sense of self love and self confidence.
Did you know that the heart chakra functions the best when you eat leafy vegetables such as cabbage and also functions great when you drink large quantities of green tea? The chakra of the throat needs to stay hydrated. Therefore, you must drink a lot of water and fruit juices like apple juice.
Your 3rd eye chakra thrives on grapes, wine and blueberries.
Our focal point of the spiritual awakening is the crown of the head which requires a good detoxification. This is done by regular inhalation of herbs and incense and rituals such as fasting.
If you constantly try and influence your chakra you can start living a healthier life. By doing this you will become more in tune with our surroundings and it will help you live in the metaphysical world that all of us must live in.
