The energy whirls or energy points in the human body which receives, regulates and transmits the energy flow of it are known as the chakras. Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means a spinning wheel or a circle.
It is traditionally believed by the Hindu’s that there are nearly 90,000 chakra points in the human body. These however are reduced essentially to seven chakra points. These run along the spinal column from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.
The seven main chakras are as follows; solar plexus/stomach chakra, heart chakra, third eye/brow chakra, crown chakra, naval/sex chakra, base or root chakra and the throat chakra. What these major chakras do, is they take energy from a persons surroundings and help to transmit these energies to a persons body. It is said that they can directly impact the activities of a person in such areas as: psychological, emotional, spiritual or mystical, and even corporeal.
Whether you choose the viewpoint of the Hindus mystical understanding of an individuals internal and external experience, Chinese medicine or the explanation of modern psychology of human thought processes and consciousness, the chakras are distinctive core common to all explanations.
The chakras are in perpetual motion whether we are awake or asleep. In case of the heart chakra, green tea and green leafy vegetables are best nurturers. Taking in a lot of water, fruit juices and tangy fruits such as peaches and apples nourish the throat chakra.
