An alignment point in the body that is able to receive, associate with and transmit the life force of energy is called a chakra. It is a word from Sanskrit which means the sphere of mans aural energy or a continually spinning wheel.
It is traditionally believed by the Hindu’s that there are nearly 90,000 chakra points in the human body. These however are reduced essentially to seven chakra points. These run along the spinal column from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.
The originating point of these chakras is from the root or base chakra, and then moving up the spinal column we have the sex or navel chakra, the stomach or solar plexus chakra, the heart chakra, the throat chakra, the brow or third eye chakra and the crown chakra. These seven major chakras receive and transmit signals to and fro from the universal surroundings or the infinite cosmos. It influences the spiritual, mystical, emotional, intellectual, corporeal and psychological condition of an individual.
There are many explanations about Chakras but there is one main definition that is tied in with all of the explanations. It is not known if it comes form the point of view from Chinese medicine, an individuals point of view, the study of psychologys take on it all, where the conscious and unconscious though process is concerned or the Hindus mystical explanation.
This happens specifically because each one of the major chakra glands works with a specific endocrine gland within our bodies. If there is an imbalance in the function of a chakra this will effect our physical and emotional state of well being. It will also create a disturbance in the endocrine gland that is associated with that specific chakra.
It is of the up most importance that you attempt to maintain Chakra balance at all times. You must also realize and come to conclude that all major illnesses result from one of the seven major chakras being disrupted. You must also realize that events that happened previously in your life may be affecting you spiritually as well as emotionally even if you are not physically sick.
Many people do not realize that Chakra healing is extremely beneficial for our bodies and that we can directly control our Chakras. You can positively influence your Chakras by employing techniques such as Reiki healing, aromatherapy, chakra balancing with the aid of a pendulum, crystals or gemstones.
One of the major reasons for chakra imbalance is depression or the subconscious load of the emotional baggage that we carry along with our life due to certain traumatic experiences we have faced in our past. Many individuals dig them deep inside their subconscious minds, unaware that it increases the emotional toxins influencing their body on a cellular level.
This is why we need to deal with any emotional baggage as it can help us maintain the necessary balance of the chakras. This will influence the healing of the physical being.

Some people would rather attend a yoga class to help maintain the balance of their chakras through physical exercises and controlled breathing.
There are various methods of chakra healing. These include focusing the mind on awareness or thought or even an object for a particular amount of time, the use of CDs or audio tapes of a guided visualization that will enhance natural healing and relaxation techniques to reduce the influence of stress while channeling the power of the mind and relaxation.
Even know we can not actually touch or to see our chakras, we can help to work with each one to make our body the best it can be.
In order for the chakras to be in balance the body must be fed properly and enjoy good health. Each of the seven major chakras has specific foods that aid in maintaining balance.
The base chakra needs food that is rich in protein, spices and root type vegetables. Nuts, vanilla, cinnamon, sweet fruits and seeds such as caraway and sesame work best in case of the sacral chakra that of our sexual being and creativity. Our stomach or solar plexus chakra on the other hand requires breads, cereals, pasta, yogurt, dairy products and spicy mints for nourishment.
The heart chakra takes nourishment from green leafy vegetables and green tea. Tangy fruits like apples and peaches as well as the consumption of plenty of fruit juices and water aid in nourishing the throat chakra.
The enhancement of the sharpness of in our third eye sight and a deep sense of our psychical talents and gifts that associate with the brow or third eye chakra finds nourishment from the consumption of grape juice, wine, grapes and blueberries.
Detoxifying the body is beneficial to the crown chakra which is our emotional and spiritual center. This is done by the ritual inhalation of incense and herbs and by fasting.
We can influence our health when we influence or stimulate our chakras. Doing so inspires us to be more responsive in our lives as we become completely in tune with our general surrounding as well as all the other elements of the physical and metaphysical environment we live in.
