The term Chakra has its roots in the ancient Sanskrit word Chakram, which as a literal translation means ‘wheel’. This actually refers to the seven wheel energy whorls in the body of a human. So these are actually whorls of energy situated in the subtle body of human where reception and transmission of all of the energy take place.
It is understood that the state of each of the seven chakra correlates to the primary nerve ganglia coming from our spinal cords which mirrors the physical wellbeing and the emotional wellbeing of an individual.
