An alignment point in the body that is able to receive, associate with and transmit the life force of energy is called a chakra. It is a word from Sanskrit which means the sphere of mans aural energy or a continually spinning wheel.
Many traditional Hindu writings suggest that there are nearly 90,000 points of Chakra throughout a person’s body. Although, there are seven Chakras that are more important than all of the rest. These Chakras exist from the bottom of the spine all the way up to the top of the head.
The seven main chakras are as follows; solar plexus/stomach chakra, heart chakra, third eye/brow chakra, crown chakra, naval/sex chakra, base or root chakra and the throat chakra. What these major chakras do, is they take energy from a persons surroundings and help to transmit these energies to a persons body. It is said that they can directly impact the activities of a person in such areas as: psychological, emotional, spiritual or mystical, and even corporeal.
There are many explanations about Chakras but there is one main definition that is tied in with all of the explanations. It is not known if it comes form the point of view from Chinese medicine, an individuals point of view, the study of psychologys take on it all, where the conscious and unconscious though process is concerned or the Hindus mystical explanation.
Irrespective of your awareness, the chakras are in constant motion. This continuous flow of energy influences the major structure, appearance, physical disorders, glandular processes as well as our thoughts and deeds. However, if one of the chakra shows a malfunction or imbalance in its system, then it is bound to develop symptoms in other areas too.
This is due to the seven major chakras being connected to the in endocrine gland that is found in our bodies. Even the smallest imbalance of can take its toll on our emotional state as well as our physical state. When an imbalance occurs it can create a disturbance in the way a person behaves and that is directly linked up to the endocrine gland.
Maintaining the Balance of Chakra Using the above as our point of beginning, we can assume safely that the majority of our ailments and illnesses are related to our chakras. Even though there may not be enough materialization of imbalance or illness, there may yet be concerns or emotions that come from our childhood that influence us spiritually, emotionally and physically.
One of the major reasons for chakra imbalance is depression or the subconscious load of the emotional baggage that we carry along with our life due to certain traumatic experiences we have faced in our past. Many individuals dig them deep inside their subconscious minds, unaware that it increases the emotional toxins influencing their body on a cellular level.
Thus it is essential to remove the emotional baggage from our minds in order to properly balance the chakras.

Some people would rather attend a yoga class to help maintain the balance of their chakras through physical exercises and controlled breathing.

Nuts, vanilla, cinnamon, sweet fruits and seeds such as caraway and sesame nourishes the sacral chakra that of our sexual being and creativity. Breads, cereals, pasta, yogurt, dairy products and spicy mints nourish our stomach or solar plexus chakra which enhances our sense of self love and self confidence.
Take care of your heart chakra with green leafy vegetables. You can also go with a green tea which can help flush things out. For your throat chakra, youll need to push fluids. Fruit juices and water are very good for this, especially juices that have apples or peaches.
The brow or third eye chakra which enhances our strength of third eye sight and an in-depth sense of our own psychical gifts is nourished by consuming fruits such as grapes, blueberries, or grape juice and wine.
The crown chakra is the highest chakra the chakra of spirituality is all about detoxification. Hence, traditional inhalation of herbs and incense and activities such as fasting works best towards that.
