Exploring the Root Chakra
Sarah Taylor Chakras are defined as locations throughout the body that allow a positive force of energy to flow through. There are seven chakras that are present throughout the body, with the root chakra being the base for the chakras. All chakras have a color, and the root chakra is red. This chakra is responsible for grounding us as human beings to the earth, and openly shares the earth’s energies. The location of the root chakra is at the base of the spine. This is often associated with feelings of movement, and the spiritual lesson from this chakra is material world lessons. There is physical pain that is evident when this chakra is blocked. Lower back pain, rectal tumors, as well as depression play into the root chakra. Individuals that experience mental and emotional issues, such as self esteem, also have a root chakra that needs to be awakened. Physical movement, such as stomping one’s feet on the ground, or completing a set of squats is needed to open this chakra. Once there is movement in the lower spine region, the base chakra is available to move freely and experience the beauty of perfect energy as it flows throughout the body.
