Understanding the Root Chakra Part 4
Sarah Taylor Connecting With Your Roots: The ROOT chakra attaches us determinedly to existence, ringing a bell that we were called at this point and that we have a right to be. The ROOT chakra communicates to the color red and is situated at the base of the spine in the perineum. The root chakra grasps important teachings about liveliness, grounded ness, and association to the earth, confidence, protection, continued existence and our capability to be completely in our bodies. If you have been experiencing a frightening impression of insufficiency or lack of confidence, or if you from time to time feel detached, try this uncomplicated exercise to help you reconnect with your root chakra. 1. Sit with your spine in the right position, and bring your concentration to your 'sitting place,' the position where your body interconnects the chair or floor. Become aware of any vibrations or sensations in this area. 2. Now visualize roots drawing closer from your body, physically powerful, fine-looking roots that get in touch with all the way down into the prosperous, fundamental earth. See in your mind's eye illustrating earth’s power up from beginning to end of these roots into your body. 3. As you do this, keep in mind the way gravity keeps you here, declining to let you drift. Feel the concrete ease of your heaviness as it takes it easy alongside the chair or floor. 4. Next, in actual fact become aware of your own aliveness: you are breathing. Your heart is pounding. There are procedures going on within you that you don’t even have to think about. Give a split second of gratefulness to your body for its wise performance. 5. Now visualize yourself having confidence in this universe that carried you into the world that called you at this juncture to take your place in life. Bring your realization once more to your 'sit place,' and express thanks for its relationship to the earth, and to life.
