The Sacral Chakra Part 1
by Sarah Taylor
The Sacral (Second) Chakra
We have arrived from the Earth, force that is motionless, rock-solid, and opaque. We have achieved knowledge of our bodies, our foundation, and belongings connected with one. We are at the moment prepared to bring in a novel aspect.
As we go in the second chakra, we come across change.
Our solitary life turns out to be duality; our tip is converted into a line; the firm, a fluid; motionlessness is converted into movement. We have achieved a level of independence.
All the way through alteration we invent and realize dissimilarity. Dissimilarity, at its limits, generates divergence. Divergence creates magnetism and development. Developments are necessary and feature of all life.
The second chakra is in the lower abdomen, centered stuck between the navel and the genitals. It keeps in touch with the sacral vertebrae and the nerve ganglion called the sacral plexus. This plexus hooks into the sciatic nerve and is a hub of movement for the body. It is time and again described as the 'seat of life.'
Its element is water. For that reason, the chakra communicates with physical operations comprising with respect to liquid: blood flow, urinary exclusion, sexuality and reproduction.
Characteristically, this chakra is the gathering place of sexuality, feelings, sensation, recreation, change, and nurturance. Like water, it is ruled by the Moon, which manipulates the tides and our sentiments.
The Sanskrit term for the second chakra is Svadhisthana, which means 'sweetness.' This is an appropriate title for the sweetness of craving, contentment, and sexuality connected with the life-giving waters of Svadhisthana. Its color is orange, and its lotus holds a curved Moon enclosed by six petals.
The second chakra symbolizes the personality of 'two' and proceeds polarity, bringing about the interchange in the body and consciousness that commences the rising procedure of twisting Kundalini as she goes up all the way through the chakras. Encountering 'other' generates wants, and want gets a hold us to move, to get in touch with, to develop and modify.
